The flash photolysis of BrOg in presence of 02 gives rise to an absorption band peaking at 260 run. which is assigned to 03. The effect of various additives on this band is explained on basis of competition between the additive. BrOs and 02 on 0 atoms in their 3P ground state. From the analysis of

✦ Synopsis
The comparison of the reactivity of 0-alkyl O-p-nittophenyl chlorometylphosphonates in two processes -basic hydrolysis and the reaction with o-aminomethyl phenols (Ah@) meals that both in the absence of cetylpyridininm bromide (CPB) and in the CPB micelles nucleophilic activity of the hydroxide-ion is much higher (by 2 orders) than that of AMP. III the basic hydrolysis the concentration factor is found to play a more significant role in comparison with the reaction of the substrate with AMP due to the higher binding constants of the reagents. A variation in the substrate binding constant depending on the reaction medium and the reaction type was revealed.
