✦ Synopsis

The reaction of di(isopropy1)aminophosphaethyne 1 with iodomethane or the methyl ester of trifluormethylstilfonic acid (methyl triflate) yields the ionic lh3, 3h3-diphosphetene derivatives [MePC(NPr,)PC (NPrz)]' X-(2a: X = I ; 2b: X = CF3S03). O n the basis of N M R spectroscopic and X-ray diffraction studies, the cation can be described as a combination of an amino-2-phosphaallylic cation and its methylated derivative.
