Reaction of photogenerated dimesitylsilylene
with tertbutyldimethylallene and tert-butylallene yielded the corresponding alkylidenesilacyclopropanes.
Its photochemical behavior and some reactions with nucleophiles are described.
Because of the unique properties resulting from high strain energy, the studies of silicon-containing three-membered ring compounds have been fruitful
