Silica clusters were produced by laser vaporizatian of three difierent silica compounds and the ionized species were analysed by using Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry. Using a wavelength of 248 nm, negativeion mass spectra of E2, Merck and Stober's silica showed different

β¦ Synopsis
Anionic and cationic silicon clusters react exothermically with WF6 to give a variety of tungsten and silicon fluorides. All the silicon anionic clusters transfer their charge to WF6. The electron affinities of S&, are estimated to be less than the electron affinity of WF6 (350 kJ/mole (3.6 eV)).

Trivalent and hexavalent chromium oxides have been examined by time-of-flight laser microprobe mass spectrometry and Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FTICRMS). The positive-ion spectra show a strong correlation with the valency of chromium in the oxide. Thus, the positive
## Abstract Formation and stabilities of four 14βmer intermolecular DNA triplexes, consisting of third strands with repeating sequence CTCT, CCTT, CTT, or TTT, were studied by electrospray ionization Fourierβtransform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (ESIβFTICRβMS) in the gas phase. The ga
The analysis of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products by electrospray ionization-Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (ESI-FTICR) has been achieved. Specifically, a 105 base-pair nucleotide portion of the ribosomal spacer region was amplified in two members of the B. cereus
Electrospray ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (ESI-FTICRMS) has been used to determine the mass of a double-stranded 500 base-pair (bp) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) product with an average theoretical mass of the blunt-ended (i.e. unadenylated) species of 308
