Thus, for successful market and infrastructure development it is a major necessity to understand the mechanisms involved. Dorothee Reinmfiller, International Solar Energy Society (ISES), Germany and Rana Adib, Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, Germany describe a new guide to assist governments, business, and financing organisations in providing energy to rural areas using renewables.

RESuM A study on rural energy supply models

To bridge remaining knowledge gaps on suitablc models for market based energy supply in rural areas, the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) in co-operation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE has carried out a survey on "Rural Energy Supply Models -RESuM".
