✦ Synopsis
Abstract
In a recent Journal article, Dr. Gennaro et al.[2000] stated that 96‐100% of the mesotheliomas and 42‐49% of the lung cancers among maintenance workers in the petroleum industry were attributable to asbestos exposure. Their observation was based on two relatively small studies: one was a cohort study of refinery workers from Italy and the other a population‐based case‐control study from Canada.
