Polycrystalline samples RSr2Cu2.7Mo0.307 \_ 8 with R = Y, Pr, Gd, and Tb were synthesized and studied by means of powder X-ray diffraction, electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, and specific-heat measurements. All four samples form a perovskite-layer structure with a tetragonal symmetry.

We present magnetic and specific heat measurements of the series Sr2RuCeo.sMCu201o\_a (R = Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd; M = Nb, Ta). Superconductivity occurs for y > 0.8 (R = Nd, Sm, Eu), however, for Gd only in combination with M = Nb, while the corresponding Pr compounds are found to be nonsuperconducting.
Electrical resistivity p, magnetization M, and specific heat C measurements have been made on polycrystalline RBaefu307\_ ~ compounds (R = Y or a rare earth element) which, except for R = Ce, Pr and Tb, exhibit superconductivity with T~ ~-90 K. Measurements of C(T) below T c reveal (1) a contributio
## molybdenum Chevrel phases containing rare-earth atoms (REMotX8 ; X = S, Se) are model systems which can present at the same time, phenomena of superconductivity and long-range magnetic interactions. We have recently developed a new crystal growth method specific to the selenides series, which w
