โฆ Synopsis
Rapid prototyping, also known as layer manufacturing, additive manufacturing, or solid freeform fabrication, is an approach for creating complex structures and devices for medical applications from solid, powder, or liquid precursors. Rapid prototyping of biomaterials provides a comprehensive review of rapid prototyping technologies (e.g., bioprinting) for medical applications. The chapters explore rapid prototyping of nanoscale biomaterials, biosensors, artificial organs, and prosthetic limbs. The use of rapid prototyping technologies for processing of viable cells, scaffolds, and tissues is also considered.
