✦ Synopsis
Experimental Procedure
3 . Compounds 1 (0.48 g, 2 mmol) and 2 (0.88 g. 2 mmol) were suspended in dry dichloromethane (1 5 mL). After addition of ethyldiisopropylamine (0.70 mL, 4 mmol), the light yellow suspension immediately turned deep blue; after 15 miii yellow niicrocrystals began to precipitate. The mixture was stirred for three days at room temperature before the crystals were filtered off by suction, washed with dichloromethane till the washings were colorless. and finally washed again with hot glacial acetic acid and with ether. Yield: 0.17 g (85%). Correct elemental analysis. Yellow prisms, m.p. > 350 (from CH,CN); IR (Nujol): : = 2253 (m, C=N), 2235 (s, C-N), 2230 (m.
