β¦ Synopsis
D-Hydantoinase activity of microorganisms was detected by a microtiter plate assay using dihydrouracil as substrate in 24 h. The detection gave a clear result compared to the spot-test in which the colour development of one colony interfered with colour development by adjacent colonies. The sensitivity of the detection was also higher than that of the spot-test.
