✦ Synopsis
The precise Raman linewidths, wavenumber shifts and integrated intensities of the isotropic parts of the Raman spectra in the CyN stretching region 2210-2250 cm-1 were obtained for the m(CyN) stretching mode of acrylonitrile (acryl) in (acryl + phenol) and (acryl + methanol) binary mixtures. The concentration dependence of the wavenumber shifts and linewidth changes was examined in both systems and the experimental results thus obtained in the case of the (acryl + methanol) system were explained using the indirect dephasing model, which is based on Anderson-Kubo formalism. In the case of the (acryl + phenol) system, the variation of with C was explained in C L terms of trimer formation.
