โœฆ Synopsis

The structures of D-cycloserine and its Zn2+ and Ni'+ complexes are investigated by means of Raman spectroscopy. Evidence that D-cycloserine chelates metal ions through the nitrogen and oxygen atoms of the amino and carbonyl groups, respectively, is presented. The average ligand number is evaluated to be not greater than two for both complexes. It is suggested that although the chelation sites in D-CyClOSeriIIe as well as the average ligand number is the same for both complexes, their structures are not the same.
