The pressure dependences at room temperature of the translational lattice modes and of the u2 and u., internal bending modes of the ReO; ion in solid NH,ReO, are reported. There is no evidence of any phase transition up to a pressure of 15 kilobar. The pressure coefficients of the translational mode

Resonance intewctians in the bending (X400-1470 cmwz) and C-H stretclting (2840-2930 cm-') regions of the Raman spectrum of crystalline polyethylene at high pressures are described. Implications of ttwsc results concerning the interpret3tjon of the ~ibr~l~o~~~ spectrum of water are discussed.
