After calf thymus DNA has been photodamaged by Yangzhou haematoporphyrin derivative (YHPD) or Photofrin II, the Raman characteristic frequencies and the intensities of the bands assigned to various groups of the components of DNA change considerably. As a result of damage, homogeneous B-form calf th

✦ Synopsis
The photodamage of DL-Ct-phosphatidylcholine, dipalmotoyl (DPPC) liposomes sensitized by hypocreUin B (HB) at various concentrations has been investigated by Raman spectroscopy. It is found that after treatment with HB and light, the space structure of DPPC liposomes obviously changes. The trans conformation decreases and the gauche conformation increases. Moreover, the order parameters for the longitudinal interaction in chains and for the lateral interaction between chains decrease. In addition, it seems that the C-N group of phosphatidylcholine of DPPC is the possible binding site to I-lB.
