Abstract
A quantitative Raman spectroscopic study has been made for the first time of the polybutadiene microstructures of a number of copolymers of butadiene and acrylonitrile and a comparison made with IR studies of these copolymers. The intensities of the v(C°C) and the v(CN) bands have also been used to determine the amount of each monomer in the copolymer.

## Abstract The thermal oxidative degradation of an inhibited butadiene–acrylonitrile copolymer has been studied kinetically by means of infrared spectroscopy and color formation in the temperature range 100–200°C. In this type of degradation hydroxyl‐ and carbonylcontaining groups are formed from
