Abstract

A quantitative Raman spectroscopic study has been made for the first time of the polybutadiene microstructures of a number of copolymers of butadiene and acrylonitrile and a comparison made with IR studies of these copolymers. The intensities of the v(C°C) and the v(CN) bands have also been used to determine the amount of each monomer in the copolymer.
