Spontaneous and resonance Raman (RR) spectra of lead and tin phthalocyanine (PC) complexes are reported. The surface enhanced Raman effect by silver island films was used to study the PbPc compound that gives rise to a strong fluorescence under normal laser excitation. Observed spectra are discussed

✦ Synopsis
Raman spectra of evaporated thin solid films (200 nm thickness) are studied using excitation frequencies in resonance and near resonance with the absorption red band ofAl, Ga and in phthalocyanine. Depolarization ratios measured on thin films are also discussed.
