β¦ Synopsis
Raman band shapes of the v3 vibration in methyl bromide have been studied in the temperature range 183 K to 333 K. The isotropic and anisotropic part of the band were determined and then used to calculate spectral density of the rotational contribution. The integrated spectral density of the rotational contribution has been found to satisfy the second moment criterion. Both rotational correlation function and angular velocity correlation function have been determined and analysed.
