Vibrational energy distribution m CF,Br. produced by multiple-photon excitation. is studied wth the use of Raman probing of fundamental bands and also overtone and combmations bands. On a collision-free time scale, statistical energy distrlbutlon among vibratlonal modes 1s found at energies over 7200 cm-'. Possible physical causes of this effect are dlscussed.
