Abstract
Information on the vibrational and electronic properties of the [VO(biuret)(SO~4~)] · 3H~2~O complex was improved in order to gain a deeper insight into the characteristics of the metal–ligand bonds. Normal Raman and pre‐resonance Raman studies were performed, which allowed a better characterization of the metal–ligand modes and a thorough analysis of the electronic spectrum. The results were also compared with theoretical semi‐empirical molecular orbital calculations.

## Abstract The infrared and Raman spectra of vanadyl(IV) tetraphenylporphyrin were recorded between 1600 and 200 cm^−1^. Assignment of most of the vibrational modes was done by comparison with other related compounds. The VN and VO metal—ligand vibrations could be clearly identified. Pre‐resonan
Infrared and polarized Raman spectra of (NH4)JH(S04)1 have been recorded and analysed. Multiple bands are observed for the vibrational modes of SO:-and NH: groups. HSO; and SO:-ions are found to coexist with vibrational interaction between them. NH: ion is not rotating freely in the lattice.
