✦ Synopsis
The infrared and Rnman band profile and band-\vidth of the crystalline halides (CH3)3NH+X-in lhc u(NH) stretching vibration region are analyzed with the help of the tempernture dependence nnd of the isotopic substitution effect. While the infrared v(M) band-width is several times larger than the Rnman linewidth in the pure substance, the widths are about the mrne in the isotopic diluted system (CHa),NII *Cl-/(CHJ)~ND+CI-. This result is arplnined by induced cooperative effects incrensing strongly the nnhnrmonicity of rhe eleclrical moment nnd not that of the polarizability of the NH oscillators.
