Abstract

The value of weather generators for down‐scaling the output of general circulation models for regional impact assessments is limited by the assumption of stationary‐rainfall‐circulation‐pattern relationships. This note assesses the potential of incorporating weather front data into existing stochastic precipitation models to describe intraweather pattern rainfall variability.
