Ricorda soltanto di aver sentito uno strattone improvviso e di essere stato sballottato e trascinato a decine di metri dal suolo da una forza improvvisa. Certo, sa di avere trentotto anni, un passato senza gloria da musicista rock e da manager musicale, una moglie dolcissima di nome Misato e un figlio, Sosuke, che studia negli Stati Uniti; ma, per quanto si sforzi, non riesce a trovare una spiegazione razionale che chiarisca il motivo per cui si trovi lassΓΉ, tra i rami alti di quella pianta, come fosse il monaco buddhista Roben che, secondo la leggenda, fu preso da un'aquila quando era ancora in fasce e lasciato, appunto, in cima a una cryptomeria.
