β¦ Synopsis
Optical absorption and emission spectra of Eu 3+ /CdSe nanocrystallites and Eu 3+ in sol-gel silica glass samples are being carried out. From the measured intensities of various absorption bands and applying thermal correction, the three Judd-Ofelt parameters O 2 ; O 4 and O 6 are evaluated for these glasses. From this theory, various radiative properties like transition probability A; branching ratio b; the radiative lifetime t R ; absorption cross-section s a and the emission crosssection s E for various levels of these glasses are determined.
