โฆ Synopsis
The transfer of radiation in filamentary prominences for a two-level atom was considered.
Variation of the sources function with depth was calculated and is presented graphically in prominences of various optical thickness (TM = 10, 50, and 100) and degree of filamentation (3' = 1.0, 0.5, 0.1, and 0). It was shown that in the central parts of a prominence the source function of resonance radiation (A = 1) is the less the greater the degree of filamentation. And, on the contrary, for )t < 1 the decrease of degree of filamentation causes the value of the source function in the central part of prominences to rise.
