✦ Synopsis

Radiation shielding due to secondary bremsstrahlung is performed for the First Optics Enclosure (FOE) at the Canadian Light Source. The energy deposition in a water phantom, which encompasses the FOE, is estimated using EGS4 code. A comprehensive study of radiation distribution at the back, sides and roof is given.
