Off-Bragg as well as Bragg blazing phenomena obser¨ed, in a periodic strip grating o¨er a grounded dielectric are described for the TM polarization case. Simultaneous Bragg and off-Bragg blazing phenomena are also demonstrated.

✦ Synopsis
The radiation problem of the Smith᎐Purcell type is considered for the case where a line charge mo¨es, at a constant speed, parallel to a periodic strip grating o¨er a grounded dielectric slab. Numerical results pertaining to the radiation intensities and magnitudes of space harmonics for ¨arious cases of geometrical parameters and dielectric permitti¨ities are presented, based upon which some discussions on the occurrence of the sharp maximum radiation intensity of the n s y1 space harmonic and the characteristic beha¨ior of neighboring space harmonic magnitudes under such a condition of maximum radiation are gi¨en. The relationship between the k d y d diagram and the 0
