β¦ Synopsis
End corrections for open-ended cylindrical tubes are determined theoretically and experimentally. For the zero and low frequencies, the wave equation is solved numerically by using a "nite di!erence method. For higher frequencies the complex radiation impedance is measured and for circular #anges, calculated with the boundary element method. For low frequencies the BEM links up with the FDM and for higher frequencies "ts with experimental results. Various #anges found in particular in musical instruments are considered: circular #anges of various sizes, spherical and cylindrical #anges, square #anges, the normalised #ange (used for loudspeaker testing), short #aring horns and a disk at a certain distance above the open end. Analytical "t formulas are proposed for each case.

This work is concerned with a study of container filling, with particular reference to the food industry. A computer code was developed and an experimental rig was built, the main purpose being to validate the software. The computational fluid dynamic (CFD) code, called GENSMAC, was specifically des
## Abstract The vent pipe for a turbo shaft engine may be required to have a lobed nozzle installed and to bend for the purpose of infrared stealth. The experimental setup was a circular 12βlobed nozzle with bend mixers to study the effects on the pumping performance of the lobed bend mixer paramet
