β¦ Synopsis
The problem is considered where a heater of emissivity el, is maintained at a temperature T1. The slab being heated has emissivity and equilibrium temperature e2 and T2 on its inner surface and e3 and T3 on its outer surface. The equation is developed which relates the three temperatures in terms of the three emissivities.
