The damping effect in the motion of two bodies is investigated in the frame of the general theory of relativity. The solution for the field is chosen to approximate an outgoing wave at infinity. The components of the field are evaluated in the required orders of approximation by the EIH method. It i

โฆ Synopsis
Under the assumption of small influence of radiation on the motion, a simple formula for the energy radiated from a system of particles is derived from an action principle of a general type. The formula is applied to the problem of electromagnetic and gravitational radiation and the corresponding expressions for the radiated energy are discussed. The method is illustrated on the simple example of the motion of a charged particle in an external magnetic field.
