โฆ Synopsis
Radiation from Methane-Oxygen Mixtures Heated by Refleeted Sheck-waves THE availability of methane in the deposits of natural gas in the North Sea has led to an interest in its possible use as a fuel in industrial flames. Consequently, there is considerable interest in radiation from methane flames, Typical experimental traces recorded in the presence of a dust cloud are shown in Figme 1. They demonstrate that there is a delay, of similar magnitude at both wavelengths, between the passage of the reflected shock and the rapid g.~ qwth of radi~'tion. Records obtained without the addition of dust cf __.F--
