✦ Synopsis

Spin trap N-benzylidene-t-butylamine N-oxide (PBN) reacts efficiently with primary radiolysis intermediates such as solvated electrons and solvent cation radicals and with oxidizing transients resulting in the formation of aminoxyl radicals. However, this does not occur via a simple radical trapping reaction.
