β¦ Synopsis
The ~(1440) seems to be split into two components, an 7/(1410) and an r/(1470). The splitting might signal a node in the 7/(1440) wave function suggesting that the 7/(1440) is a radial excitation. The partial width of the ~/(1440) for the P7 decay leaves a little room for an exotic interpretation of the r/(1440). The production rate of the r/(1440) in ~p annihilation is similar to that of the ~r(1300) which was observed in its p~r decay. No evidence was observed for the y(1295). If the latter exists its production must be much weaker than that of the ~r(1300) by about a factor 100. If the latter is assigned to the 2iS0 nonet, the t](1295) cannot belong to this nonet. Then a new pseudoscalar nonet emerges consisting of Ir(1300), y(1440), r/(1760) and K(1460).

Deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) and the exclusive electroproduction of vector mesons (p0, p:L, ~, Β’) and pseudoscalar mesons (rr Β°, 7r Β±, ...) in the Bjorken regime are sensitive to the recently introduced off-forward parton distributions. We calculate the leading order amplitudes for DVCS
