✦ Synopsis


Ha01 have been synthesized, and some of their photophysical and redos properties studied. Although free phenothiazine ligands are potent reductive quenchers, the phenothiazine complexes were found to luminesce, the excitedstate lifetimes being in the range of a few hundred ns. The non-radiative lifetimes of these exited states are similar to that of the parent Ru(bpy)z+ complex indicating population of states other than the luminescent hlLCT state. * Work at ANL is performed under the auspices of the Office of Basic Energy Sciences, Division of Chemical Science, US-DOE under Contract IV-31-109-ENG-38. * The following abbreviations are employed throughout this report:
