The British Pump Manufacturers' Association (BPMA), having successfully bid for a grant from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to support the development and implementation of marketing strategies for its members, has embarked on an indepth report on the UK and world pump market.

Whilst previous research has e x a m i n e d market trends separately by both end user and p u m p type, it has the disadvantage of not allowing for market trends by p u m p type within end uses. The new approach involves breaking down the market in each e n d use into different applications which have been selected to reveal opportunities for p u m p types and the characteristics needed.
