✦ Synopsis
Excitation of the acoustic waves in the materials with hysteretic quadratic nonlinearity by sinusoidal distributed source moving at a velocity close to sound velocity is analysed theoretically. Precise analytical solutions of the inhomogeneous nonlinear equation for the acoustic wave profile are found. The dependence of the excited wave amplitude on the difference between the source velocity and the linear sound velocity (that is the resonance curve) is established. The roles of the amplitude-dependent sound velocity and the amplitude-dependent (hysteretic) sound absorption are revealed. The theory might have applications for the description of the nonlinear acoustic waves excitation in ring acoustic resonators made of materials with hysteretic quadratic nonlinearity.
