โœฆ Synopsis


A new type of nonradiative process responsible for the excitonic luminescence quenching in (CdTe,CdCrTe)/CdMgTe heterostructures is identified and its efficiency is estimated. During this process, which belongs to the class of Auger-type nonradiative transitions, an immobilized exciton recombines nonradiatively, and the energy is transferred to a chromium center nearby, causing its ionization.
