The production of Cl atoms in the laser flash photolysis of ClOOCl at 308 nm has been investigated by time-resolved atomic resonance fluorescence at 235 K. A value of @= 1.03 f 0. I2 has been obtained for the primary quantum yield based on an absorption cross section ratio u&u~~s=22 for CIOOCI at 245 and 308 nm.

This cycle is thought to be the major contributor to polar ozone loss [ 2-41. In the past couple of years much has been learned about the C1202 molecule
