## Abstract Using infrared photo‐induced absorption (PIA) spectroscopy, we have found a remarkable correlation between inter‐sub‐level (ISL) optical transitions and the photoluminescence (PL) from silicon nanocrystals. Our results indicate that the quantized electronic sublevels of the nanocrystals
