These two books complete the three-volume many-author treatise edited by D. R. Bates (of the University of Belfast), and aiming at a full presentation of the principles and applications of Quantum Theory. The first volume subtitled Elements had presented the foundations of non-relativistic Quantum Mechanics including variational and perturbation methods and the theory of collisions. In view of the diversity in content and authorship of the second and third volumes it may be helpful to list for the reader the various contributions before commenting on them:
