β¦ Synopsis
Recently some attempts have been made towards a possible interpretation of spacelike momenta as faster-than-light particles. After a short review of some of those proposals an alternative way to quantize free fields with space-like momentum spectra is put forward. The suggested theory includes the solution of the problem of negative energies which turn up in any theory with space-like momenta. Special emphasis is laid on a thorough discussion of localizability and its consequences for a sensible particle interpretation. Finally, the question of possible interactions is considered.
