✦ Synopsis

Due to functional and histological examinations it is expected, that in the skin of the dorsal part of the auricle there are no ecerine sweat glands.

Because there do not exist in any other respect characteristic differences to the skin of the human body it is possible here to determine the perspiratio insensibilis in normal human skin free of ecerine sweat glands.

The mode of perspiratio insensibilis can be understood as a process of transepidermal diffusion and is compared with the insensible perspiration at the finger-nail.

The total amount of perspiratio insensibflis of the whole body, calculated from the results obtained from the dorsal part of the auricle, runs up to 21 H~O in 24 hours.

This quantity corresponds to results described in literature.
