✦ Synopsis

Problems associated with the quantitative analysis of compounds by infrared spectrometry without the use of standard materials, but on the basis of calculation of absorption bands and absolute intensities by present-day theoretical methods are discussed. The feasibility of such analyses with an admissible high accuracy is shown with some actual examples. A method for the quantitative analysis of mixtures by a single measurement and with additional information on tentative concentrations of components was suggested.
