β¦ Synopsis
Quantitative measurement of the relative number of rare spins of individual lines in solid state cross polarization NMR has been hampered by the spin-latlice relaxation in the rotating frame and the finite and different cross polarization transfer rates. In this article a simple method which combines the standard polarization with depolarization of rare spins is suggested. It offers a reliable approach to obtaining quantitative analytical data without intensity distortion, when the lines considered are well separated. Experimental data obtained with glycine and o-toluic acid are shown to be in fair agreement with the known values.
