Abstract

9‐Ethylguanine and other simple nucleoside analogues were prepared and their rates of ethylation under physiological conditions were examined. Sulphonate esters can be determined quantitatively by extraction into carbon tetrachloride and measurement of the peak height of the asymmetric SO~2~ stretching mode.
