✦ Synopsis
Butyrate and longer-chain fatty acids are quantitatively extracted from an incubation medium and separated from ["Clacetate with a recovery of 93.6 f 2.3 and 96.7 * 2.4% for butyrate and palmitate, respectively. Butyrate and longer-chain fatty acids are methylated and prepared for radio gas chromatography with a recovery of butyrate and palmitate from the incubation medium of 90.7 f 1.8% and 93.5 k 2.3%, respectively.
