✦ Synopsis
I-Q-INDI%IERUNG IXR AUTORADIOGRAMME
The concentration of 14C-1abcled sugars (glucose, fructose, and xylose) on thin-layer chromatogratns was determined with autoradiograms (contact method; tight days' csposure), Since photodensitometric measurements did not give the precision req.&ccl, the silver content of the radiograms was dctcrmined directly by neutron activation analysis. This method reduces error and facilitates the analytical procedure but requires a long decay time. The precision of the measurements was increased by application of a mercury multiplication solution (2fJ3Hg-labeled) on the autoradiograms.
Tile mercury activity can be determined immediately after exposure. The graph obtained by plotting the logarithm of the concentration against the tncrcury activity has a linear region from IO-*$ to Io+ &i.
