Quanta1 calculations of differential cross sections for vibrational excitation and vibronic charge transfer in the H+ -to? collision are reported. The calculations are undertaken within the infinite order sudden approximation using diabatic potential energy surfaces and the coupling terms of Grimbert, Lassier-Covers and Sidis (1988). The results obtained for a collision energy E,,. =23 eV reproduce many of the salient features observed in the experiment of No11 and Toennies ( 1986 ) .
