✦ Synopsis
This report describes recent data related to the exploration of strongly-bound systems and the behaviour of QCD in the non-perturbative regime. Despite the title, the measurements presented here all involve a hard scale, so that the reaction dynamics may be cleanly described by perturbative QCD calculations. Recent data provide new information on the distribution of partons within the proton, such as the spin-polarization of the quarks and the gluon density. Measurements of hard-exclusive processes offer additional insight into partonic correlations and orbital angular momentum. Finally, some examples are given of new data on hadron formation, another manifestation of non-perturbative QCD. ELSEVIER Nuclear Physics B (Proc. Suppl.) 117 (2003) 204-221
