✦ Synopsis


Corre el verano de 1969, con sus furgonetas llenas de hippies, pantalones de campana, sexo, drogas y manifestaciones criminológicas contaban con una tecnología bastante primitiva en comparación con los medios actuales. En una cantera próxima a la autopista, la policía encuentra el cadáver en estado de descomposición de una mujer, con las manos atadas, varias puñaladas y degollada. En el curso de la investigación, los agentes encargados del caso ni siquiera logran averiguar quién era esa mujer, pues apenas hay pistas, y el crimen queda sin resolver. Dieciocho años después, y a punto de jubilarse, los dos policías que encontraron el cadáver quieren, al menos, identificar a la mujer. Piden ayuda a la detective Kinsey Millhone, pero volver al pasado entraña sus riesgos, y lo que comienza como una indagación en torno a la identidad del cadáver termina convirtiéndose en la peligrosa búsqueda del asesino.
