✦ Synopsis
Line-mixing effects have been observed with a Fourier transform spectrometer in two (Q) branches of the absorption spectra of (\mathrm{CO}{2}), corresponding to the (\left(20^{\circ} 0\right){1} \leftarrow 01^{\prime} 0) and (\left(12^{2} 0\right)_{2} \leftarrow 01^{\prime} \mathrm{C}) transitions centered near 2130 and (2093 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}), respectively. The gas pressure was raised to (3 \mathrm{~atm}) and the path lengths have been chosen in order to study the center as well as the wings of these two (Q) branches. Good agreement is obtained between the experimental results and computations taking line mixing into account with a phenomenological model for the relaxation matrix. c 1995 Academic Press. Inc.
